So why did bugzilla and a QA process succeed for GNOME? Our open bug count has stayed nearly level or gone up for 18 months, our total bug count will hit 120K soon. If you're not paying attention that probably sounds like complete, embarassing failure. It's not perfect, but I'm still pretty proud of it. :)
WILL TALK MORE ABOUT EACH OF THESE
*relationships- communication is key
*triage is hard- must resist the temptation to do as barbie does and go shopping.
*firehose- this is good not just because of the intimacy with users, but because it means that if your process is lossy it still works.
*volunteers- implicit in everything I say here today is that QA is a group and a team. Just setting up bugzilla and letting it run is a recipe for disaster.
